Asians
Comparing the situation in asia and in europe must be done with this in mind:
- Asian freak out for any little thing. Their tolerance towards the break of normal daily life is low. Their countries are usually safe but they are scared easily as soon as something is different.
- The second thing to have in mind is the way asians solve problems. Asian focus on efficiency more than morals or the way to solve a problem. Their only focus is to solve the problem, whatever the cost is. In a general aspect, asians are more pragmatic than westerners.
- The third thing is the political regime. Eventhough some asian countries have democracy, the way they do it is completely different. The social structure and the social behevior is not comparable to western democracy. The democracy in asia is more like just a word, but in reality there is a strong hierarchy so…democracts: you are not. The power of changing (imposing) things for an asian democracy is higher. Korea, China and Japan have a bigger leverage when it comes to change how people do things. The pyramidal hierarchy is helpful for that.
Westerners
- Westerners are less emotional in this aspect. They think too much but feel less. Of course they can panic but it seems they have a better tolerance for these things.
- The westerners have a different way to solve problems. They think a lot about morals (eventhough they don’t realize it), they include morals and ethics more when thinking about how to do things in general. Sometimes life is not convenient in Europe because of ethics. Westerners think beautiful is better than useful and that is why Paris is beautiful but not convenient.
- Western democracy-word has a better definition in real life. People are individualists and governments have hard time to control people. Many rebels in the west.
Information and fears
People freak out every once in a while, while their reality remains the same since they are born. News and social medias, as well as the crap friends talk about all day long, shape their imagination and beliefs and make it their “reality”. It seems obvious, but the repetition of messages of fears over the time (everyday for years) affect what you think is the reality.
Remember, at a quantic level, the ostrich-like approach works.
Positive aspects of the crisis
Any problem is a way to improve. Especially when we have no choice to move forward. We have to adapt, change, evolve, find a solution. That is the good aspect of problems. Adversity helps each of us to improve. But we have to embrace the problem and find the positive aspect.
I can name several positive aspects, like the importance of hygiene (hygiene is a basic before any vaccination). But also the way people will finally realize they can work from home instead of commuting stupidly and lose time, money and energy doing it. Teleworking diminishes pollution, noise, trafic and whatnot.
Positive aspect for governments. It is clear that government can get huge benefits of such crisis. Quarantine is a good way to control people’s movements. A big issue can hide others embarrassing issues and make people forget about it. Governments can make laws to protect control better people because the situation is exceptionnal. They will also find a way to create a new taxe for sure.
Trees fight eachother for the light. Adversity is useful (and I would even say necessary) for humans to improve and reach the light. Of course, you have to know about it, otherwise you will just miss the chance.
Life is a scam. Don’t fall for it.
